Matt Tyler is a registered professional engineer (PE) in Oregon. He began working in the building energy field in 1998 in the R&D division of the California Energy Commission. He worked at HMG (Heschong Mahone Group), serving as project manager on a variety of research projects, usually related to Title 24 development and compliance. Matt also worked as a research engineer at PECI for eight years, where he supported Title 24 development and compliance, retro-commissioning, and building energy simulation and analysis. He has conducted over 50 in-building audits of commercial buildings and trained and managed teams that collected and analyzed construction characteristics for hundreds of facilities.
