Michael Tillou joined PNNL in 2020 as a Senior Buildings Research Engineer. He supports PNNL's commercial energy code development program providing technical analysis and support for cost-effective upgrades to national model energy codes and standards including ASHRAE Standard 90.1. Michael has worked for over 20 years as an energy analyst supporting the design and operation of high-performance buildings, analyzing complex building systems, and, providing training to code officials and design professionals. Since 2007, Michael has helped support the continuous improvement in minimum building energy efficiency standards through his membership in ASHRAE Standard 90.1. He uses his combined his expertise in code development and building simulation to help lead the effort to transition energy codes to a performance basis.
