Biography

James McNeill joined PNNL as a Research Engineer in 2020. James supports PNNL’s energy code program through simulation and development of commercial building prototype models. James has a wide range of professional and academic expertise, including the design of high-performance buildings, whole building energy simulation, detailed analysis of HVAC system performance, experimental and computational analysis of room air distribution and particle transmission, and development of software for building performance analysis. James has published 10 journal articles, conference papers and technical reports. Prior to joining PNNL, Dr. McNeill founded a business for the development of technical engineering software and provided modeling and analysis of building performance for Affiliated Engineers, Inc.
